These analyses are recommended for those developing a new water supply as a source for drinking water. This test series should be run early in the development process, as the data may prove valuable in making informed decisions about whether to continue developing this source, types of water treatment, the water's suitability for other uses, etc. You must contact the lab at (307) 742-2984 for a price quote, sample bottles and sampling instructions prior to submitting samples.

Microbiology

Analytical Methods, Practical Detection Limits (PDL), Containers Preservation, and Holding Times for Selected Analytes

These bacteria analyses are recommended for drinking water, discharge water, swimming pools and spas. The holding times in the table below are regulatory limits. Standard Methods recommends 6 hours from collection to the start of the analysis. Chlorinated water must be collected in a container which contains sodium thiosulfate.

Residential Water Supply - Rural Health

PROGRAM OBJECTIVE - This program is designed to give the rural water user sufficient data about the general water quality, such that decisions may be made concerning the potability of the water and treatment techniques to improve the potability or quality, if necessary.

The analytes listed in this table are frequently requested by Wyoming's Conservation Districts in their effort to determine whether or not surface water is impacted by agriculture or other activities in the drainage. The analytes requested depend on the water's beneficial uses and the type of activities potentially effecting its quality. This list is not all-inclusive; therefore the laboratory should be contacted during the design phases of a monitoring program.

Property Transfer Series

PROGRAM OBJECTIVE - This program is designed to give the property owner the minimum water quality analysis required for the transfer of property not connected to a public water supply
