 Wyoming Department of Agriculture:

Weights & Measures Regulations

The 2009 Wyoming Legislature made significant changes to the Wyoming Weights & Measures Law (W.S. 40-10-117 through 40-10-136) which became effective July 1, 2009. Based on those changes, the Wyoming Department of Agriculture is adopting new Chapter 18 rules.

The new Chapter 18 contains definitions; technical requirements for weighing & measuring devices and checking net contents of packaged goods; certain exemptions; inspection and testing of weights and measures used commercially; registered service technicians, registration and certification of service technicians; testing and inspection fees; laboratory fees; establishment license fees; and repealing chapters.

The new regulations also adopt federal handbooks by reference that are specific to weighing and measuring devices, laboratory operations, and current industry practices.
