The following is a list of USDA disaster assistance programs and resources that may be helpful to communities impacted by wildfires along with local and state level organizations who may have resources available. There are several USDA tools, resources, and guides that outline the various disaster programs as well as information for key USDA contacts in Wyoming for further support and coordination as needed.
U.S. Forest Service
- ·US Forest Service Federal Wildfire Resources – Learn more about pre-disaster Federal grant and cost-share programs across USDA and FEMA that can support community-led efforts to prepare for wildfire.
- The National Interagency Fire Center (NIFC) - is the nation’s support center for wildland fires and other emergency situations. The partners at NIFC work together to compile information about the current wildfire situation and statistics that encompass lands managed by federal, state, local, tribal, and private agencies.
- Post Fire Recovery | National Interagency Fire Center (nifc.gov) - NIFC also provides information about post-fire recovery programs for the Forest Service and Department of the Interior, including for Burned Area Emergency Response on federal lands, which can impact adjacent non-federal lands, and Burned Area Recovery programs.

USDA Disaster Resource Center
- ·USDA Disaster Resource Center - provides information on how to prepare, recover and build long-term resilience during disasters and emergencies.
- USDA Disaster Assistance Discovery Tool - Learn about USDA disaster assistance programs that might be right for you by completing five simple steps.
- USDA Disaster Assistance Programs include:
- Tree Assistance Program (TAP), Emergency Assistance for Livestock, Honeybees, and Farm-raised Fish Program (ELAP), Livestock Forage Disaster Program (LFP), and Livestock Indemnity Program (LIP) help compensate producers for losses caused by natural disasters.
- Emergency Conservation Program (ECP) and Emergency Forest Restoration Program (EFRP) help producers with restoring fences, damaged farmland, or forests.
- Emergency Watershed Protection (EWP) Program provides assistance to communities to address watershed impairments or hazard.

Food & Nutrition Service
- Food & Nutrition Service – Disaster Assistance: coordinates with state, territory, tribal, and voluntary organizations to provide nutrition assistance to families and individuals affected by a disaster or emergency.
- Guide: D-SNAP Resources for State Agencies and Partners - The following resources are meant to assist states in planning, operating, and reporting Disaster SNAPs (D-SNAPs). Many of these documents are also available in the Disaster SNAP Guidance Handbook and the D-SNAP Toolkit.
